The long strange journey of "Grounded for Life" appears to have come to an end. The WB has let the show's producers know that no future episodes will be picked up after the completion of the season's first 13 episode.

"Grounded for Life" has, however, survived cancellation once before. In 2002, part of the way through its third season, FOX pulled the plug on the series. The WB picked the comedy up and began airing new episodes in February 2003.

A frequent time period switcher, "Grounded for Life" has fallen flat on Fridays this season, averaging only 2.78 million viewers per episode, still slightly more than its Friday lead-in of "What I Like About You." The plucky show, which stars Donal Logue and Megyn Price, managed to earn a renewal despite only averaging under 2.9 million viewers per week last season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Carsey-Werner series will have aired 91 episodes, with the first 40 produced for FOX. Thanks to the show's second life on The WB, it will be able to go into syndication on ABC Family next year.

Six episodes of "Grounded for Life" have aired this season.
